Annual open races

Are you up for an interesting challenge?

Every year, we host two team-based races open to the public: The Global Race and The Female Entrepreneurs Race.

Find a team of great managers or leaders who would be eager to take on a series of practical, thought-provoking challenges that combine experiential learning with a competitive edge. It’s a unique opportunity to strengthen teamwork, inspire new ways of thinking and advance leadership skills. Designed to create a lasting impact.

The Global Race

The Global Race returns this October!

The race is open to managers and leaders who want to grow, connect, stretch their thinking and try something a little different.

It’s a great team building and professional development opportunity to share with those you manage or work with. Teams of 3-8 people work well, but build the team that works for you.

We welcome teams from all over the world. Last year, Japan won the race – which country (and team) will it be this year?

*Only 100 spaces available for this race!

The USG Female Entrepreneurs Race

Coming February 2026

Sign-ups are now open for the next Female Entrepreneurs Race. If you’re a female leader with a team of 3-8 people you’d like to bring along – whether they’re colleagues, peers, or collaborators – this is for you! Build skills and try something new, together.

Our Female Entrepreneurs Race is run in collaboration with United Success Global who share our commitment to supporting women in leadership and business.

"This challenge gave me purpose and invigorated me with energy and passion to communicate with my team mates and share our knowledge. I also learnt a lot about my team mates through the videos and feel a bonding with them now. And learnt from each challenge with things I did not know."

Alex Yung

Creasians Co Ltd, Hong Kong

"One significant shift has been our approach to teamwork and communication— we have become more intentional about listening to each other, valuing different perspectives, and ensuring that everyone’s strengths are utilized effectively"

"As the challenge progressed, I stepped it up to the best of my ability.  In Challenge 6, I could no longer stay in the background as I had to prepare a video.  This was way out of my comfort zone (and skill level) but I pushed through because there was no way that I was going to let my team (or the children in Nepal) down"

Terry Neithercut

Coaches Training Institute, Canada

"The past few weeks have been truly exhilarating. As we reach the conclusion of this challenge, it feels surreal to reflect on the journey.”

Yuri

Interac Network, Japan

Six online challenges over six weeks.
Each weekly challenge takes around 60 – 90 minutes of each team member’s time. So if you have a team of six, that gives you more than six hours of input to complete each challenge together.

There’s no set time to take part, you choose a time that works best for your team, as long as your entry is submitted online within seven days.

The challenges are designed to develop a wide range of skills from transformational thinking to accountability and everything in between. Many also include a humanitarian element, which has been a core inspiration behind the Race from the very beginning.

There will be two, one hour live learning and sharing lessons.

Our live sharing sessions are a great way to talk about what learning there has been and how to apply that within our day to day work. After all there’s no point in learning new skills if we don’t then apply those in our work.

Introduction meeting: In this call we will introduce you to the race, go through logistics and set up your teams (if you haven’t already!).

Mid point check-in: This meeting will be around the third week to reflect on your learning so far, and you will have a chance to see what everyone else has been submitting! We add this in because we believe that reflecting on our learning is a vital part of development.

Final meeting: In this meeting, the winners will be announced and you will have an opportunity to reflect on what you have learnt!

Entry to The Global Race is just £1,100 per team.

  • Early Bird Discount: Save £200 when you register before the early bird deadline.

  • New to the Race? First-time teams and registered charities enjoy 25% off.

  • Giving Back: We proudly donate 20% of all proceeds from The Global Race to charity.

Experiential learning

"If we combine our voluntary, humanitarian interests with business, we can learn so much more than if we just focus on the business. I feel it brings a different depth of learning that can really accelerate our learning"

Helen Jamieson (Founder of The Leadership Race)

Our approach to leadership development is based on experiential learning. We provide the opportunity for people to learn through actions and real world experience. This lends itself to making learning meaningful and powerful, leading to rapid growth and development.

In many of our race challenges, we connect with people around the world who are facing real issues, and provide them with the opportunity to share their stories while our race teams work to develop thoughtful, creative solutions. The results from the challenge will be always be shared with the contact, giving them hope and some answers to their situations.

Watch to hear what past race players say about experiential learning.

Why not try our demo game?

To mix things up, we sprinkle in light hearted games throughout the race to help retain information and boost competitive spirits.
